Navagraha Temple in Pondicherry

This expansive temple covers two acres and features impressive, giant statues. The main effigy of Saneeswara stands at an astonishing 27 feet tall, while the other planetary effigies are each 15 feet high. Visitors from around the globe flock to experience this incredible spectacle.
On Saturdays, the temple is bustling with devotees, as this is the day dedicated to Lord Saneeswarar. The temple also celebrates significant festivals such as Sani Prathosam and the New Year, drawing large crowds of worshippers.

Individuals experiencing negative planetary influences visit this temple to perform special poojas for their respective star deities. Common offerings include black cloth, pooja sets with betel leaves, and various fruits.

Surrounding the temple are 108 trees of various breeds and ages. Additionally, statues of all 27 stars, as well as towering effigies of Shiva, Ganesha, and Vastu Bhagavan, all standing over 15 feet tall, contribute to the temple’s unique character.
